Admissions

Master’s Degree Admissions

How to Apply
Prospective students can begin their application by clicking here. All USC applications must be completed online. USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology also requires a Gerontology Supplemental Application, which can be found in the Program Materials section of the graduate application.

Application Fee
The application fee is $90 and must be paid when you submit your application. There are certain circumstances where applicants may be eligible for a fee waiver. Students who qualify for a fee waiver must start their application online, then have their waiver request approved prior to submitting their application. Please click here to check if you may be eligible for the fee waiver.

Advanced Standing Option
USC Leonard Davis School offers an advanced standing option for students who have graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (BBA) or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited college or university. To be eligible for the advanced standing option, students must have successfully completed their BBA with a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last 60/90 units of undergraduate work or a 3.3 GPA for their MBA. A cumulative 3.5 GPA for all business courses with a grade of B or higher is required for admission.

Students admitted to advanced standing will bypass 11 units of the Master of Arts in Senior Living Hospitality program and be required to complete 32 units total (24 units of core courses and 8 units of elective courses). If you believe you are eligible for the advanced standing option, please let the admissions team or your academic advisor know, and your transcripts will be reviewed for eligibility.

Students in the advanced standing option of this program will have the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Hospitality from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in addition to their Master of Arts in Senior Living Hospitality degree. Contact an advisor to learn more.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
The GRE may be waived for students with a GPA above 3.0 on the 4.0 scale. If the GRE is required, we will notify you during the review process.

Scholarships
We award $500,000 in merit-based scholarships to qualified students each year. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please apply within the online application. The scholarship application may be found in the Program Materials section of your graduate application, under Questions. Scholarship applications are reviewed and awarded upon admission into the program.

After You Apply
You will receive your 10-digit USC ID via email within two to three business days after you submit your application. Keep this ID on record and make sure to include it in all your communication with USC. You will also need to include it when mailing any documents to the university. The USC ID is different than the USC CAS ID you will receive when you begin your application. That ID is only required for technical support during the application process and is not issued by the university.

Please contact us at ldsgero@usc.edu with any questions regarding the admissions process.
